Ballad of a Rock Star
02:22
|
|||
I'm such a Rock Star,
'Cuz I haven't washed my hair,
Took a gutter punk shower,
'Cuz no one seems to care
I'm such a Rock Star,
And I'm going really far,
'Couple dollars sort of the bus,
'Cuz I don't have a Jaguar.
I swear to God I know it's never gonna change,
I'll just keep playing 'till they drag me off the stage!
I'm such a Rock Star,
'Cuz I don't have any girls,
Unless they're a thousand miles away,
In my imaginary world.
I'm such a Rock Star,
'Cuz I'm hanging out with Cheese,
"Good evening, we're the drug inspectors,
Let us see it if you please!"
My momma said I'd end up broke and all alone,
That's why "Good riddance!" is what they're writing on my stone
I'm such a Rock Star,
And I only came to play,
I sure as hell can't afford a beer,
On the money that I make.
I'm such a Rock Star,
And I'm still on SSI,
But I'm still trying to work,
God alone only knows why.
He'll lay me down with my bottle of Jack and my guitar,
Some kid'll find me and say "I wonder who you are?
Weren't you a Rock Star? Come on and play!"
Ow!!!

She Forgot
04:43
|
|||
So long ago,
She Forgot
I know,
It hurts you so,
But no,
She Forgot
"You're so high, and I'm so low, I can't go anywhere you go."
We're so sorry that you failed,
But she won't answer her mail."
She Forgot
Publicists, and managers, and high walls surround her,
She Forgot
"There's no way, I could say, how I feel, yeah."
Go to jail if you get caught,
Going to her house, or get shot,
She Forgot
She lives in L.A. where I'm betrayed,
With an actor who sure gets paid,
She Forgot
"It was my dream, it lost the war, with the real!"

Errand Boy
02:11
|
|||
Welcome Everyone,
To this here little song,
I know nobody's listening,
So I'll just sing along
It's better than what I have to do,
All day and all night long,
I'm getting kinda weary,
of bearing all these wrongs,
My bosses think an intern is a God,
But I'm an Errand Boy,
I wish I were a man,
But I'm an Errand Boy,
And no one understands,
That I'm an Errand Boy,
Who's never making plans,
Going through it all to see a star I like.
So before somebody throws a beer,
Can I go get 'em one?
It's what I do for work,
And what I do for fun.
Someday I'll have an office building,
Unlike other ones,
Filled with homeless former CEO's,
Who started out as one.
I'm an Errand Boy,
And it's not much to be,
I'm an Errand Boy,
Three cheers for those like me,
I'm an Errand Boy,
It's the new way to be free,
At least on payments of 50 bucks a week,
Yeah!
Yeah I'm an Errand Boy,
And I am not ashamed to be an Errand Boy,
It's the noblest way to fame,
Just an Errand Boy,
Level one on any game,
And I'm a damn good Errand Boy,
Who's got unrealistic goals,
That's what a shrinker said go me and denied me SSI, I, I,
So I said "Oh boy!
I'll move to Hollywood and work for beggars coins,
So parties will admit me,
And then I can annoy
Pseudo Celebrities,
By asking for the girl of my dreams."
Here's what I'll hear until the day I die,
"Hey Errand Boy!"

The Barking Dog Band
02:24
|
|||
"Hey Mr. DJ,
I heard they think you're a star,
I guess you wrote all those tunes that you sample from.
No the toys don't thrill me,
And the loops don't steal me,
How'd you learn how to turn that on?
Hey may I have a riff please?
And can you even sing at all?"
They're just a barking dog band,
And no I can't understand,
They sound like barking dogs man,
Who let them out of the pen?
"Oh no! No! No! No! No! No! No! No not again!
It kinda hurts my ears they even made it here!
I wish they'd go away,
'Cuz I'm sorry to say,
That I'm just not entertained,
By all the Barking Dog Bands,
I'm glad I can't understand.
They sound like barking dogs man,
I ain't giving them a hand, no!"
They're just a barking dog band!
And no I am not a fan!
They sound like barking dogs man!
They need to play kick the can.
They're just a barking dog band,
I'm glad I can't understand,
They sound like barking dogs man!
Come get them off my land!!!

Yuletide Lament
04:02
|
|||
As I saw the humble decorations,
At The V.O.A.
I wondered just what good did I get done that year?
There was no snow in downtown L.A.,
Unless you count displays,
For the clearance sale,
They were having on "Good cheer"
Though I was sad I couldn't be like the families shopping,
There was something better anyone can give for free,
I'll give you one true friend for Christmas,
Yes he's guaranteed,
To be there when you're down,
Any time you need.
Here's one true friend for Christmas,
One who'll always know what's right,
And who'll be there by your side,
Foe every last good fight.
In the toy importer's windows,
There was no sign to be found,
For somebody,
Who would always be around.
There were lots of giant boxes,
But not all of them had toys,
Some of them had problems,
Some could not avoid.
Could there be something that everybody needed,
That wasn't on a list, or under any tree?
Well here's one true friend for Christmas,
In case we've all run out,
It could be the gift,
That Christmas is about.
Yeah here's one true friend for Christmas,
And I might be that last one,
Unless you find a way,
To make another one.
Yeah it might be an unrealistic goal,
But I'm gonna give it, from my soul
And I know it's worth more than a lump of coal,
Or a pot of gold.
So give them one true friend for Christmas,
Before we disappear,
Beneath the tides of war,
Where the apathetic leer
Give 'em one true friend for Christmas,
Am I making myself clear?
Or you can give one to yourself,
When no one else is here.

The Cure For Fear
03:17
|
|||
He was born to be oppressed,
But he never broke a sweat,
He had a smile none will forget,
Even in the face of death.
He's the one who had a dream,
And the light from it still beams.
It was destined to come true,
For you and me.
No matter how dark it seems,
No matter how the tempest screams,
This you can believe,
"The cloud is dark, but the sun is shinning on the other side."
When they tried burning down his house,
He stayed quiet as a mouse.
He never raised a hand against tyranny,
As bad as it can be.
No matter how the evil tried,
They and all their hatred died,
The cloud is dark, but the sun is shinning on the other,
Side where the glory is,
Where the Lord and the faithful live,
The most misguided child of God,
Is still loved by him.
So just feel the hope within,
When you get beaten by the cruelest wind,
Love won't be denied,
As sure as the tide,
Every storm subsides,
Outside and inside.

Guitar
01:30
|
|||
Here I am again,
Playing a guitar,
Will it be my friend?
Is this even art?
Some are made in China,
By a kid who works too hard,
His life it will end,
Before I am a bard.
I'm haunted by the malady,
Of someone's cheap guitar.
He made a deal with Satan,
To become a Rock Star,
On a list of overdoses,
Where the legacy is marred,
While the laughing demons at the table,
Said "The sucker fits the part."
Now who or what is getting played,
When someone plays guitar?
It's web of invisible chains,
Have lead us very far,
Some to a mall, some to a bank, some to abandoned cars,
I don't think I'll ever have a life,
But I've heard and owned and lost a few guitars

Gullible's Travels
03:09
|
|||
Once upon a time,
The sun almost shined,
In the land of left behind,
Where gullible minds,
Are often told lies,
That ruin lives.
He came a long way,
His word yes he gave,
He swore he'd be there one day,
But when the day came,
She turned her cold back,
And walked away.
There he weeps as he sweeps his broom,
'Cuz he knows she won't be here soon,
She's got much better things to do,
Gullible traveled,
Too far, to lose.
See he prayed for her since the time,
But God couldn't, make her, be kind.
At long last all that search did find,
Gullible traveled, to Dreamicide.
